The World's Heaviest Onion
I am writing this letter to bring to your notice my contract and dealings with your organisation, job reference A70400.
I am an extremely keen exhibition vegetable grower and although I know it appears quite sad, I am attempting to beat the existing world record for the heaviest onion.
This competition is fiercely contested each year and in order to make a sporting attempt I decided to have electricity installed on my allotment in Longridge.
Many voices of concern were raised by the "pub experts" about how poor my dealings would be with United Utilities and how expensive and erratic the service would be.
Imagine my surprise when I had cause to deal with Mr David Smalley.
His service and attitude have been nothing short of outstanding.
Throughout the whole process he kept me informed of how the installation should take place, kept me up to date with developments and assisted me in dealings with the sub contractors, Morrisons.
The process went badly wrong in respect of the sub contractors and was in fact a total nightmare. Their total lack of regard, service delivery and competence was breathtakingly bad and if I could punch the chairman of Morrisons I gladly would! Due to their incompetence and ignorance I am now unable to compete effectively in the aforementioned competition.
However this is not a letter about Morrisons but about Mr Smalley. He has impressed me tremendously and is a credit to your organisation. He is fully aware of the problems that have been encountered and has done everything he could to assist me.
Can I place on record my thanks and appreciation for all Mr Smalleys efforts. A true gentleman!
Yours sincerely
Louis Robert Hunt
